Rain again. This day we debated back and forth. We finally all agreed on the Pacific Science Center, specifically to see Hubble 3D in Imax.
The rain came down in earnest as we drove there. Folklife was going on and it was fun to watch to colorful collection of people and instuments streaming into the center. We only had a brief moment in the dinosaur hall before the IMAX started. It was enlightening to see how dangerous the mission to service the hubble could be. The kids would reach out into the empty air trying to literally touch the stars. Laura got a little Impatient toward the end.
We had lunch at the center house at a less than satisfying place. The kids got
Fries and we got a table.
Ethan and Sara got to stay and watch the butterflies while we took the young ‘uns home to nap. They are best buds.

It is sooo nice to have Wayne home. Everything is easier with two (besides he’s so cute).
We got a Larsen’s Kringle which turned out to be a hit.
The rain continued. The Museum of Flight certainly impresses walking into the atrium seeing the planes suspended.
It was a Laura day. I followed Laura’s whims and flitters. The rest of the group was always a step behind us. It made the visit very enjoyable. While others made parachutes (the craft project), we colored and taped string and made balloons out of plastic bags. When the group visited the Concorde, Laura collected rocks in an asphalt driveway for 40 minutes.

I went to Mars Hill Church 7:15 service and enjoyed the worship.

The zoo was remarkably uncrowded. Granted it was raining, but it was Memorial day weekend. We did our normal rounds. New west entrance then penguins then carousel.

We went along the northern trail. The otter area was deserted and the one otter entertained the kids for 10 min.
Laura was tired. We swung by willawong. Both girls got to hold birds. Laura wanted to go back to the car. Sara got adopted by R&R and got to see the meerkat exhibit without me.
We ate lunch at Zeeks.
Home for naps. Up to pick up Wayne and David from the airport.
We went to sushi at Kisaku in Greenlake. We lucked out for a Saturday night. We got a room to ourselves. It made the dining experience great. Probably not the most amazing sushi, but lots of fun. The lychee mochi balls were great.

Wayne left for London and I had unrealistic expectations of what I would get done. This was my chance to tity up some issues from being on vacation before guests came.
Then I got sick.
Friday was the first time I had energy. So I set about getting ready for guests. Rob, Robin, Ethan, and Max arrived at our doorstep that afternoon. Rob and Robin knew Wayne before I started dating Wayne at GT. Now my girls collided with their two boys, 5 and 2.5 yo. The combo worked well. Instant friends. There was some settling in issues (I forgot our air mattress broke and spent 30 min looking for it).
We fought jet lag with ice cream.

Wayne went to London and I got sick. I ha a sour stomach for a day and finally vomited. My friend took the kids to school one of the days. I hoped to recover quickly, but had general malaise for another few days. So the house limped along. The food we ate was atrocious. We watched more TV than healthy. And we survived.
Laura, at one point, climbed into bed and wanted some one on one time. She built this towel with bristle blocks.
