Sara came home announcing there was a marshmellow tree at school. I imagine some older kids covered a tree with marshmellows as a joke. On Wednesday, we went to the school early so I could walk and exercise while the kids played. I noticed this tree. I call these berries snowberries (with no true knowlege of their real name), but will switch to Sara’s more original name now.

Here’s some beautiful artwork by Laura. She made a wood collage (blurry) and the purple paint. Sara made this neat horse paint collage.

Wayne bought a bottle pop science kit which has 76 experiments. The first one was diffusion of water color in water. The end result:

Finally, I took the girls to their first dual dentist appointment. Laura did excellent. She got the full exam and got a toy from the treasure box.

I volunteered at Sara’s class today. I got to help put together ‘class money’. They’re using it as a fun incentive system. The money has Sara’s photo on the bill. She got to decorate her wallet.

I also got to watch this courageous teacher wrangling 75 kindergarteners by himself for a winter concert.

Sara gets to be up front with a dance partner. The concert should be fun.

I just finished the 2nd Percy Jackson book. It’s such a fun, lighthearted romp. The book is feels Harry Potter like. I’m reading another book, Stoneheart. It is hard like the statues it represents. It is also a Harry Pitter want to be. But it lacks the sense of fun in Percy. It shifts a world that is in plain sight just like Percy. Statues instead of mythology. But the kid is hard and hasn’t cracked in half a book. The pursuit is relentless. The mainxharacter has been almost killed almost 10 times. It grow tiring. Percy draws you in. It gives you fun parts to string along during the parts where the main character gets attacked.
Now I get to continue to slog thru Stoneheart while I try to find Percy #3 for more fun.

Busy week.
Had a girls night out to Bastille with Ballard friends.
Tried out Mountlake Terrace pool on Friday after I picked up Sara from school. Our pool has been too cold. The girls were all excited about a “new pool”. It’s warm. The river is fun.
Sara had Emma June spend the night. It was our first successfully sleepover. We had tried before with Johanna without success. EJ was more stalwart joining us to parties and church like she’s Sara’s twin. Laura cried when she left.
Birthday weekend lead with EJ’s pony birthday. Cindy’s 40th that evening. I love praying at birthday parties. I think it’s a great addition to my traditions.
Today was a miserable, rainy day ruining any plans for a walk. Sara got to dance at Sonya’s bday party. I’m continually amazed at Sara’s ability to adapt to social situations. She was uncertain when she began. She didn’t want to dance. She quickly got caught up in the fun and sat next to a friend from church each time.

Tonight we went to our church’s 122nd birthday. You got to love an annual meeting with balloons.

It just made me laugh with joy. I think God was too.
