Laura brought home a cute construction paper pumpkin with cheerio eyes and mouth glued on. This morning she walked into the room holding it, smiling, and saying “EAT!” The left eye was missing. Cute kid.

Dating
Wayne and I just had out 3rd date in 8 days. It seems a little excessive when some of the Mom’s in my group are getting out every few months. We’ve just had a bounty of opportunities and jumped at them. Our babysitting coop has reactivated (we took a break during my parents visit) and there’s been some parent’s night outs available to us. Last week, we went to Ray’s Cafe. We had a $50 certificate for the daycare’s auction and needed to use it. Wayne and I wandered around the Ballard art walk. Wayne bought me a beautiful cross necklace at La Tienda.
Saturday, we celebrated Jon’s birthday by trying out Picollino’s, a new Italian joint. The atmosphere was fun. They had the most pleasant roasted tomatoes. The woodfired pizza’s need some work. I think the oven undercooks the crust a little. The cured meats and caesar salad were great. The company, impeccable. We played Hanging Gardens at Cupcake Royal while eating delicious cupcakes (I had Holly Hobby’s Dance Party- not kidding, that was the name of my pink frosted cupcake).
Tonight we went to the movies. We tossed around Flash of Genius (already out of theaters), Burn After Reading (decided to save for dvd), and City of Ember. The premace was good, but the execution weak and not some believable. Wayne liked it more than me.
Another highlight from today was bike riding. I’ve been hoping to ride all summer. Wayne took my bike out and pumped up the tires. We hooked up the chariot and took the kids to the park. It worked well as long as we didn’t go up too many hills.
