We are sitting in a great little beach house called, “Zoe’s at North Beach” in Tofino, CA. Yesterday was Canada Day, or the birthday of Canada. It’s kind of the equivalent of our 4th of July, except it is the 1st of July. They celebrate their independence from British dominance since 1867, although it seems they haven’t been “offically independent” until 1982, when Queen Elizabeth signed the Constitution Act…
We went down to the dock in Tofino, along with a lot of fairly drunk tourists and took some pictures of the fireworks. Of course this is a northwest climate and it was cold, windy and raining by the time the show began.
