After flying from Juneau to Gustavus in a little Cesna, we took a boat tour of Glacier Bay. I have not had time to go through the hundreds of photos, but the trip was one of those lucky days.
Below is a shot of the Margerie glacier just as a very large section calved off and fell into the bay. Even the tour guides were impressed at the size of this and we could easily feel the waves generated as they spread from the foot of the glacier towards the boat.

The picture gives no reference for scale at all. It just looks like some ice falling into the water. However this wall of ice is truely massive. This link effectively demonstrates the scale.
