She’s gonna blow!

Filed under: General — Wayne @ 7:33 am

As I am sure everyone in the world is aware; our lovely, local volcano is about to blow off some steam. We are currently at ALERT Level 2.

I have always loved the fact that we live near active volcanoes. Some would even go so far as to assert that I have a volcano fetish. Well in honor of this occasion, I am posting a panoramic picture I took of Saint Helens a couple of years ago.

Welcome Jenkins!

Well for the longest time the website Ultissimo has lived right around the corner from wootens.net (so to speak — they actually live on the same hard drive).

Well finally the human owners of all this data will be moving right down the street as well. Yes you heard right, Jon and Claire Jenkins will be moving to Ballard at the end of September. Really hard for us to believe, we have waited so long and prayed so hard that Claire would make it back from Iraq safely, and now that day is close at hand.

Labor Day Fun!

Filed under: General — Wayne @ 9:38 pm

We had a great time over labor day. My parent’s came to visit and we spent Friday at the Museum of Flight. Sara loves technology gadgets, so maybe someday she’ll be an astronaut or rocket scientist.

Of course dad always wanted to be one as well, but unfortunately, bad eyesight and all, this is the closest he will ever come.

We then spent a the long weekend at this nice little place in Forks, WA called the Forks’ Inn. It had 2 rooms and a kitchen which was just perfect. On our way to Forks we stopped at Hurricane Ridge (just as Hurricane Francis hit Florida). There we saw a lot of wildlife. Sara and my mom were quite excited by the deer.

The next day we went to Rialto beach, this was were I proposed to Karen over 8 years ago. It’s a very special place. My dad was very impressed with the size of the “driftwood”.

That afternoon we went down to the Hoh Rain Forest and walked the Hall of Mosses.

The next day we packed up and headed back home, but we stopped at the Sol Duc hot-springs and waterfalls first. It is a very nice hike and the falls made for some nice photographs.
