It’s the day after Christmas and all through the house presents are scattered and bellies are full. Mom continues to cook delicious meals, lasagne on Xmas day, chocolate chip pancakes for the day after, Larsen’s Kringles warmed for Xmas morning breakfast. Dad works voodoo on Sara. He can get her calmed down and to sleep better than anyone else. Comet got to drink his once a year bowl of milk. Wayne and I went to Return of the King on Xmas day. I survived 4 hours apart from my daughter. The movie was awesome. It’s a little of a let down to know it’s over. Sara racked up this year and she’s only 7wks old. She definately got the most books, toys, and dvds. Finally, today is my parents 37th wedding anniversary! Congratulations!

Long Dark Night

Today is the darkest night of the year up here in Seattle. 16 whole hours of darkness. But does that get Karen down? Obviously not. We had a wonderful walk down by the lighthouse at Discovery Park. Karen’s Dad has arrived from Atlanta and brought nice weather with him.
Obviously Karen and Dad have a special bond. She’s been smiling, laughing, and joking with her Dad a lot. Maybe Sara and I will have that special bond as well.

Merry Christmas!
Seems that Sara is quite the celebrity lately. We have had many calls for more pictures. Well Sara has been growing like a weed and all her adoring fans will have to wait no longer! Just kidding. We have been having a busy time with the Wooten clan visiting the past week. Sara had her first visit to the church and was baptised. She had her first Christmas tree put up. She even got to enjoy carollers at the doorstep; she really liked them! Finally this evening I found time to post some quickie pictures.

Baptism
Sara got to visit our church for the first time today. At Bethany Presbyterian, baptisms are a very special sacrament. My parents attended and Sara got to wear a special dress that Grandma Powers made for her. Pastor Dan sprinkled water on her head and she was quite for most of the ceremony. The most wonderful part is when the whole church gets to stand and pray for us and Sara.

The Future of Java?
I found an interesting link while bouncing around the web today waiting for some code to compile.
The writer pretty much sums up my feelings about the language, and a couple of other ones as well.
