We went down to the International District this weekend and visited the famous Uwajimaya. There I got these most excellent, Muscat Gummy candy. I love the label on the package: “Its translucent color so alluring and taste and aroma so gentle and mellow offer admiring feelings of a graceful lady. Enjoy soft and juicy Kasugai Muscat Gummy.”
Mmmmmmm. Now that I think about it, the texture is quite soft and juicy.

New Climbing Shoes
Well my old La Sportiva climbing shoes have started coming apart, and my feet feel like they have been in a vise everytime I finish climbing in them. They had a clearance sale at REI, so I went over there this afternoon to look for a new pair. (About time since the old ones are over 10 years old). Turns out the La Sportiva Cliff shoes were about the only ones that fit like a glove — and that’s always the criterea that matters most. Can’t wait to try them out tomorrow at Vertical World, maybe I will finally be able to make that 5.8 roof move.

New APC-UPS (Doh!)
I was excited to get a new uninterruptable power supply from APC. It was ordered by Jon Jenkins as an appreciation gift for web services. I plan to use it to make my 7.3 Linux network services box more reliable. Well of course the day after I get it in the mail, I noticed this on Slashdot….

Jon & Claire Online!
Well our friends in Germany finally got their website up and running. They are using the same moveable type for their website that we are. You can find them at:
I really need to write more weblog entries, once or twice a month just doesn’t cut it.
