Routine

I love the kindness of routine. Within the normal, I can find the extraordinary of evening snuggles, of reading too long with my girls, of singing silly songs, of the softness of evening and sleepiness. Bunnicula is providing my family lovely moments. We finished it over the holidays. I brought home the second book, Howliday Inn. The absence of the vampire bunny has made it more boring for Sara. So she took control and brought home the final book, Bunnicula Strikes Again. We worked on the first chapter. Sara laughed and remembered a scene from Bunnicula she recalled being hilarious. I love seeing the world of books open up for my girls. I love giggling about books with girls.

We read about the hidden treasure of God in the Jesus Storybook. The girls liked the concept of treasure. They liked it more when we talked about that they were the treasure God had lost and got back thru Jesus.

Rainier was bathed in red glow of the sunset. Our clear weather delights me. The girls rode Razors in the night. Laura’s Razor wheels glowed pink and electric. Sara made laps with Natalie going almost a half mile. It was a good night. It was good to be among friends.

The routine of shopping. Procuring food. Walking. Choosing. And there is beauty in this routine.

The morning was spent in the cold sun. I walked. Laura threw basketballs with me. She insisted we throw basket balls at the same time. Laura played. I walked.

It was a good day with girls and God.
