January begins

Art starts tomorrow. I’ve entered the world of overscheduled children. But I’m not unhappy about it. We have 4 days of activities. It really is just an crossroads of opportunities we took up. Art, swim, ski, Bible. All good things.

Skiing really is a family affair. We spent most of the week organizing and sorting winter gear. Girls grow and things don’t always fit well. Snoqualmie was a zoo. We stood in line for 1.5 hrs to rent gear. The afternoon lessons turned out to be a blessing. There were 4 kids/class versus 15. By the end of her lesson, Laura had a one on one instruction. Not bad.
Up the slope they go...
This gives you a sense of the crowds on a Saturday of snow.

Laura was ready to go.
Ready to ski

Wayne and I hung out at a pub and enjoyed a soup and hot chocolate and beer while the girls worked.

Both girls were tired at the end, but enjoyed a ride on the bear statues afterwards.

They both napped on the way home.

We finally trialed Red Mill in Ballard. It’s a nice place honoring the Totem House. The mint shake is the best.

Randomness.
I love the big eyes that Laura is adding to her animals in her artwork.

Dragons are invading our frig. We also have pink yarn pieces all over the floor as the yarn is being used to suspend poor Toothless the dragon.

I find the engineering impressive.

Ornaments are down, but the tree has one more week of life as the girls plaything. They had all their animals nesting in it yesterday.
Tree play

Our Jesse tree officially ended. We didn’t do it everyday, but I was thankful it guided us through this beautiful Xmas season and pointed us toward Christ.

Another morning at the Fat Hen. Good hot chocolate.

It’s been a Downton Abbey week. I finished the 1st season, got hooked, and discovered the second season was starting. I think I got Mom hooked also!
