Things are a little out of place now and that’s the way I like it. There’s a red sprinkle lying on the bathroom floor. There are presents and playscapes strewn everywhere. It’s ok. It’s Christmas. You have to party on Jesus’ birthday.
Christmas cookies were yesterday, so I’m not sure how the sprinkle got in the bathroom.

The girls slept late while we woke early. The girls came up without even peaking at the presents. We walked downstairs to be greeted by a smiley gingerbread house.

The present opening went quickly. Sara was first up since her bike blocked all the rest of the presents, covered with blankets and pillows as “wrapping”. Laura got a Razor with pink, sparkling wheels. The morning cold and rain stopped any thoughts of using those presents. Sara wore Santa’s hat and passed out presents. The large playmobile sets got the most play today.

There were even favored stuffed animals. I got a bike rack to make that bike riding easier!
Breakfast was pumpkin bread, Trader Joe’s chocolate covered pannetone with pastry cream, hot chocolate, and fruit. I left the dishes behind and did not try to clean up our spread out Christmas enthusiasm.

It’s amazing all that fit under the tree (it’s really all the playmobile sets being brought out to play).
I got to hang out and write blog entries while Wayne assembled with the kids.

The day was play, laughter, and fun.

A dragon attacking the zombie pirate ship.
We settled into a quiet lunch and naps.
We skyped with Wayne’s family and got to see Doug! The best Xmas present!
I talked with Mom and Dad. I got to talk to my Bay Area family. It was fun to talk to all my aunts, uncles , and cousins.
Wayne was the hero of Xmas dinner. We had a ham. He made the ham and invented all the extras- corn muffins, salad, and roasted carrots and potatoes.
We ended the evening watching Kung Fu Panda 2 as a family snuggled together.
Happy birthday, Jesus!
