Frost and fellowship

The day started with frost. The girls likened it to snow. They danced over the sparkling yard while I deiced our car. I rarely do this given our active use of the garage. Laura and Helen explored the secret path covered with frost in front of school.

We continued pink cookie tradition at Honore. It was good to resume this standing date with Darcy and Helen after a couple of missed Fridays.
Laura and I hung at home. Dishes, reading, playing. It’s good to be domestic. Soon enough, nap started and ended. We picked up Sara and headed off to swim lessons (another resumption of routine after a 3 week hiatus).

At home, we did the Jesse tree. It invoked the story of Rahab. I had scoured our children’s Bible collection to find this story. Most focus on trumpets and walls. Rahab’s side of things is silent. Until I remembered this book in our collection.

It was perfect to bring the regular Bible text alive for my kids. We talked about faith and God’s goodness.

The final act of the day was Book Club. More folks than I expected showed up. It was a nice time. I was excited by how many of the women genuinely enjoyed Contract Surgeon.
