Can blogging be an act of worship? I talked earlier about photography being an act of worship. I think so. Life, lived with God, is worship. The past 3 days, our advent reading has petered out. There have been no additions to the Jesse tree. I was discouraged thinking about this. The reality is that our lives are busy. We chose the business. So sometimes, we have to roll with it. Does that mean I can’t blog? No. I felt called to blog for the days of advent, and I think I will continue. It feels like a form of fasting in a way. (If you take fasting and try to do something instead of taking something away. I’ve tried to look at things this way for Lent. It’s helped me be more worshipful at times with that season.)
My highlight of today was getting to get out on my bike.

It was a bumpy leaving. I was in a hurry and that never makes my kids move any faster. I dropped off Sara at school. We met Laura’s friend Helen. We biked down together to have pink cookies. They Laura and I jetted off to my doctor’s appointment. Laura was polite and played creatively during that boring time for her.

I had to get an xray. I was impressed by the techs ability to engage Laura. He had to get her to trust him enough to hid repeatedly behind a shield while he zapped 3 pictures. Laura got to push the button. She had a blast.
Our stomachs were pretty empty at this point. So we slid over to Hi-Life. Have I mentioned that this place never fails to please me. Laura had a hotdog. I had a honey mustard chicken sandwich with melted gruyere that was amazing. I think chicken sandwiches can be hard to pull off. This was amazing. Laura commented on how good her hotdog was. We just had a pleasant lunch together.
We did our last errands. We got some books as presents at Secret Garden.

I got some chocolate babka bread from Great Harvest for our breakfast. Robin is coming to stay with us tonight.
Finally, home. I couldn’t make it biking all the way back up, so we walked. We passed a fairy along the way.

The evening was made up of Holiday Magic on Queen Anne. It was definitely a sparser celebration in some ways. The cupcake place didn’t do any cookies (that’s was our highlight last year). We invited a couple of friends to come, but nothing panned out. I’m kind of glad, because it was a quieter time. We came right after school. We arrived at Home Street Bank right as Santa arrived. The girls posed with Santa since there wasn’t much of a line. I think this was their first time posing with him.

Sara made herself at home.

Choctopolis didn’t disappoint with wonderful hot chocolate samples, peppermint bark, and chocolate samples. We hung in QA books for a few. Wayne joined us. And then it was time to head to Olympic Pizza to met our home group. We were by ourselves for awhile, but quickly bloomed into a group of 17.
Bethany had the tree lighting in the front of the fellowship hall to keep everyone off the newly growing grass. We decorated cookies and made ornaments. The girls made dragon traps and dragon medications out of recycled materials.
