This evening went a little smoother. We actually did the whole devotional. Earlier in the evening, I was reminded of what I was waiting for with this cool collage while picking up the girls.

Laura made the snake tonight to add to the Jesse tree.

I looked up the Bible verse and found it illustrated in Tomie De Paolo’s Bible Stories. Illustrations do wonders for attention. I like that this book has the actual, unabridged bible verse.

We struggled a little with the word repent and what it meant. The thought of physically turning away from an evil thing seemed to help, but it was hard to move it into a more abstract understandable concept.
Things I enjoyed today.
I got books from the library. Laura, looking at the new books, declared her wish to enter the books. “It’s be so, so fun!” I agreed with her.
Lunch with colleagues and a free tofu pho sandwich.
Priorities. Laura had us all come upstairs to sing happy birthday to small pillow pet unicorn who had just turned one. Laura had created a present for unicorn and we needed to watch it be opened.

I saw Mount Rainier framed with clouds and golden sunshine on the way to work.
