Last night there was some tantruming. I swear it wasn’t me. Still we put an ornament on our Jesse Tree. Our tree is pink yarn strung across the mantle.

It came at a moment of panic. I needed to get us started. I didn’t prepare much, but I wanted to start. Advent had come. So we did it. I offered to color the ornament. Sara and I split the job. If I want to do it, then they want to do it more. Reverse psychology?
We read about the branch of Jesse. I’m not so the girls understood. Sara liked reading the devotional. So tonight we tried again. We got to the ornament. The devotional got interrupted. Hopefully tomorrow at breakfast.
This night has not gone as expected. There was a glowing moment when we all sat down for dinner. We were all together after a day apart. I’d gotten takeout from Thai Siam. It was nice to have dinner quickly available. (as an aside, Thai Siam is the best Thai in Ballard) The girls started completing to tell stories from their days. The girls both helped me clear the table. They jumped into play. Zelda has impacted their imagination.

The parrot from Rio became a loftwing. The fairy was Link. The flurry of play continued. I hung up Laura’s ornament.
Then things went awry. I guess that’s life. I did think about the activity from last night. How to fast for Advent? I thought I’d try to blog every day for Advent. We’ll see how it goes.
