Schedule

“Oh, Mom! I just remembered what we need to do this afternoon.”
“What?”, thinking dishes, unpack, clean toys, shop.
“The playmobile have a parade scheduled.”
Mom: “Oooooh. Glad you reminded me.”

That’s a sense of how this week and our summer is going. Laura had soccer camp and that was our main focus of the week. It was the UK Petite Elite through Loyal Heights Community Center. It was very fun and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. I also learned that Laura likes soccer, but it’s not a consuming passion. I will not be signing her up this fall for a league. That’s the joy of summer- you get tastes of things.

The grandparents continued the stay over trend. Wayne and I got to eat at the Blue Glass. We trialed crab hush puppies-nice blend of maryland and southern cooking and pecan crusted salmon. Fun atmosphere. We also saw the last HP7.2. I thought is was a fitting end with wonderful effects. Two complaints I heard- too predictable and it left parts of the book out. I didn’t really notice either. I was entranced and enjoyed myself thoroughly.

A family friend, Dorothy, who has been out of touch for while, came out to stay with my parents this week. What a delight to eat dinner with her (thanks, Mom!) and get to talk to her. It’s been 12 years and she hasn’t changed an iota. I have kids now that she’s never seen.

Highlights from soccer: getting lightening and thundered on, playing the funky chicken, looking great in purple, irish and english accents, trialing ASL with another father, teaching Sara how to daisy chain clover.

Cooking highlight: Trader Joe’s butternut squash ravioli with buttered sage sauce with toasted pine nuts. Quick and lovely.
