Greenwood Carshow

We finally went to a SeaFair event. I’ve been wanting to catch this one for a long time. It’s so close to our neighborhood, so big, yet so homespun. We renegotiated our day this morning. Always that delicate balance between chores and fun. We decided to drop haircuts in favor of the car show. Wayne was most excited about taking photos. We still had our traditional pancake breakfast and didn’t get there till 9:45am. It was easy to park and walk up. We didn’t make it very far. We walked past Dusters and Teslas and Chevrolets. The dogs walking by were the hits for the girls. We sampled kettlekorn and bought it on the way back. It was hot and good. It’s rare I find a kettlekorn place that makes it on location the way it’s meant to be done. I got in a race car via the window. At one point, I questioned if I’d be able to make it out. I did (in case you were curious). I couldn’t get either of the girls to get in. The girls got tatoos of the Evergreen Speedway. They started to get in the groove that kiosks meant free stuff. We stopped at the Uncouth Buzzard book store. It’s been so long since I’ve been in a used book store. I had to buy something. I read a story about a NW Raven and bought Peter Pan for the girls.

Then off to a preschool buddies birthday. It was at Carkeek Park. It’s been over a year since we’ve been at that park. Such a great park, so close to us. The marine layer kept it pretty cold. The girls played with bubbles. We wandered down to the beach. Two of Sara’s school mates happened to be at the table next to us celebrating the birthday of a younger sibling. She got a bonus playdate.

We ended the evening helping out friends with computer problems (ie Wayne did). We grilled out and had a nice dinner. The sun finally came out. It was a nice evening of quiet conversation. The girls got another playdate with friends.
