The weather has been golden this week. I have biked the girls days and days. We have worshipped the outdoors and follow the sun after this wet, cold spring.
I have been slow to write. We have been busy doing family stuff. But as time crept by, I’ve missed documenting our lives.
Yesterday, we played with friends.
We were close to ice cream and succumbed to temptation.
The school was abuzz with activity. There was art being put up all over the place for the art festival.
This is Sara’s immigrant she’s been studying for Social Studies. Catherine from Russia.
Hand art
We biked from home to the girls dentist. Laura decided to be fashionable in the dentist chair with my scarf.

To get out the door, we skimped on breakfast. I had hungry girls with mouths full of fluoride. That means they can’t eat for a half hour. So I bribed them with playing. Laura figure out how to get a neat seat. Sara immediately wanted to copy her.

Sara got in the act and we had snacks before dropping Sara at school.

Tuesday was another power biking day. I dropped the girls off at school. I had 40 min to make it to a baby shower at Mosaic Coffee near Dick’s in Wallingford. It seemed silly to ride back to get a car. So I went out of my comfort zone and took on the missing link to get on the Burke.
I have not been on the Burke for years. It was so wonderful to be back. I took this shot of the backside of Freddies with the graffiti.

I went up the hill to Mosaic, a fun and funky coffee house in the basement of a church. You get to name your own price for coffee. There was a separate room for the kiddos.

The baby shower was fun with a matching game that related to candy bars.

Yeah Malcolm and Sarah!
Sunday, we continued a recent tradition of family sabbath activities after church. Sunday was rainy. We had a free family pass to the Children’s Museum that was expiring. I laugh. I think auctions (like for schools and preschools) were the original Groupon.
Here’s Laura popping out if a log in her princess dress.

Sara and Laura played with boat and bus.

Note Dad is the passenger!
Finally backing into Mother’s day. Mother’s day was delightful. The girls were so delighted. One walk we gathered flower petals- cherry blossoms, tulip leaves, azaleas, dandelions. We placed them in a bowl of water. The rest of the week, Laura would collect flowers to give to me.
I got lovely art work. God bless schools and preschools for their hard work making Mother’s day gifts.
Sara made this fun card. There’s a pop-up door at the end with her photo.

Sara made me this fun, functional fish fan.

Laura made me animals on the church bulletin.

My wish was to go see Rio. What a fun, colorful movie! We got burgers, fries, and a shake at Zak’s.
More miscellaneous.
Sara continues Spanish and T-ball. She got 3 outs this week. Both girls continue to swim weekly.
