Disney day 2

Disney d2

I’ve now spent a full day at Disney and am immensely pleased. Today was Epcot.

6 hrs spent and we made it onto 4 rides!

We got up at 0700? Dressed. Ate brft at the lodge. Cereal and milk was never so expensive. Thank goodness for grocery shopping tonight so that’s not our brft every morning.

We stopped to admire some topiary in the form of bison. They got named Kredra and Loaf.

Epcot by 0900. Started with Soaring as our shake down. And it was. Wayne had seen the technology at Siggraph. The line was long and boring. An hour. The girls had no idea about the reward. Laura complained the loudest. We chatted with a family from Newcastle who’d been her for a week and got tips. The ride that scares no one terrified Laura. She cried the whole time. Luckily, she seemed unaffected afterward.

We had much more success with Nemo. The line moved fast. There were smiles in the Clam mobiles. I saw a real dolphin!

Then a fast walk to Le Cellier to make our lunch reservation. It was cool and in a basement and gave good sustenance. Hamburger with pancetta, mushrooms and crisp onions. The girls tried the pizza which came steamed. Hmmm. Not getting that again.

We enjoyed the flowers from the show and went slowly. The girls colored a paper fan for 30 min and played on a playground. We circled back to Crush show. Both girls got to talk to Crush. He only picked 5 kids. Laura asked when turtles die? He had a good answer.

Then retreat to resort to nap. The girls were wilting from the heat. We napped 1500-1630. Then pool. Which meant slide for Laura constantly. Sara partook after careful contemplation.

Quick showers and off to Epcot. We literally got our same spot with everyone leaving. Arrived at 1930. Feasted on promised pops and ice cream sticks. Went on space into the dome. Fun! Laura was enchanted after double checking we didn’t fly. we headed to Mexico to get a place for Illuminations and to eat. Fairly wretched food for $20. Fried empanadas, soggy grapes, tortilla chips tasted bad (is that physically possible?). Still enough to keep us happy thru fireworks. Again, beautiful. Walking back thru crowds.

Off to Publix in Kissimee. Finally, real, good food. The girls begged for a real dinner and we obliged.
