Sledding

This has been a winter season marked by weather. Right now, I’m wondering if our basement will flood with all these storms. It seems like weather has affected almost every trip we have taken. Today, we tried to embrace the weather. There was lots of snow in the mountains. But there were also storms and wind. I figured it would all turn to snow in the mountains. On the way to Snoqualmie Hyak, the rain hammered us. The snowmobile hydroplaned on the water on the road. It did not change to snow when we got up there. But there was a lovely hill of snow. Somehow, rain doesn’t seem so bad when you’re flying down a hill at high rates of speed. So we had a blast. We were joined by a family from church. The facilities at Hyak are top notch. Heated restrooms! Laura flew down the slopes. Mostly, she and I went. Sometimes we raced.
