South Leaving

Packing day. The day to stuff all the presents, all the toys, all the goodies into small bags. We actually did it without shipping. We had to borrow an extra duffle from my parents. It worked. It just took a few hours to put everything back.

The fun part of the day was going a park from my childhood.

It’s been influenced by Path, for the better, in my opinion. As my Mom says, it ties the neighborhood together. I walked with my Mom for the first time the whole trip along the Path while the girls played where I played as a kid. We went under the railroad to another playground.

It was fun to visit my old haunt.

New Year’s Eve for me was lasagna. My Mom made her awesome meat lasagna. Sooooo good.

My brother’s family returned from errands and we got one last evening together. Dad turned on the PBS classical NYE concert. Girls got baths, make lunches, off to bed.

My first act in the new year was helping Laura vomit. She awoke in pain. As soon as as she vomited, she felt better and went to sleep.

This mornings proceeding were rushed and complicated. Taking rolling bags on a plane with a family is complex. Delta charges for bags so we made sure to check as few bags as possible. Laura was ill in spirit after being awoken. Sara also has been grumpy. Not a surprise. We had my niece, nephew, and SIL see us off along with Mom and Dad.

Getting home to SeaTac- great. Getting curbside pickup from Burke- priceless!

I’m all dazed and confused arriving home. Kind if aimlessly walking thru the house wondering what task to tackle first in the great unpacking adventure. My kids are much more directed and have taken out playmobile to play with.

Wayne had wise direction for me. We all took a nap and headed to J&C’s for a lovely dinner. PCC’s prime rib is great! My favorite moment was reading Llama, llama holiday drama to all 4 girls with 3 on my lap. All the older girls decorated cookies.

Tomorrow, we will unpack.
