We have plumbing back. I am grateful for plumbing!
Today was zoo day in Nashville. We actually had to be efficient. We woke early and moved quickly. We got there and the place was empty. It stayed empty. It was such a joy to go where we wanted without crowds or even other people. It was cold and lots of animals were kept indoors.
We started at the Jungle Gym. What a fabulous playground!! High wood structures, bouncing bridges, and a net over moat that went for 30 feet. Walking across it was like taking a tai chi class. Eric et al joined us shortly. It was good to see all the tykes that keep growing. We had a merry band of 7 kids be the time we started wandering among the animals.
There were snatches of adult conversation, but we were all too interested in the actual zoo.
Meerkats were fun. There are albino animals everywhere you spit. The flamingos are a beautiful rich, orange pink. One got at eye level with us. The girls begged for the petting zoo. Sara curried goats. We saw a wallaby Joey.
We got some warmth at lunch. The girls had one more go at the playground and then home at 2ish.
Laura and I took naps. Hanna went home. Karen and the boys came for dinner. We had leftovers again. Yummy leftovers! Shirley and Karen had the tactical meeting about menus. More good eating in store.
Sara fell asleep on my lap. Such a contented feeling. I was listening to PBS’ Xmas special with handbells and choirs and Bible readings. Nice Advent evening.
