Our house is old, so I can hear the rain well. The headline in the newspaper this morning is about this storm. We chose to drive all over North Seattle in this headliner of a storm. It is a respectable rain.
This is the second night I have not put my kids to bed. I walked in at 10:45pm and walked into their bedrooms. They are beautiful when they sleep. It is nice to be home. I am grateful for the physical shelter my house provides, especially tonight.
We bounced tonight. Pump it up bday. That’s a bouncy house, birthday party business. As a family, we had a blast. It seemed like Laura’s entire preschool was there. She played especially with Helen and Henry. Laura was waning at the end. I think she’s still recovering her energy after sickness.
I departed from that scene to be an adult at the only holiday party of the year all the way in Woodinville. I got to pet chocolate labs, see Lisa, talk to colleagues, and eat good food. Not bad. The drive back revealed flooding on the streets.
