In true birthday tradition, we took Veteran’s day and made it the birthday day. Sara chose to share it with her sister. I had an idea to try and get one day with one girl and one day alone with another. It was fun.
We headed to Top Pot donuts for breakfast.

They were heartily enjoyed. The girls both got Dance Party donuts with pink frosting and sprinkles. I trialed pumpkin donuts. Free parking, too. There were 2 people in the line before us. 2 minutes after our order, the line was 20 people deep. I was flabbergasted by that (and glad I arrived when I did).

The movie (the main event of the day) was still a few minutes away. We blew a few minutes in Top 10 Toys, our favorite toy story, now in the mall!!

Finally, up to the movie. Megamind was a decent movie. I liked it a lot better than Meatballs (last years selection). It was fun loving and cute. Not the best, but not bad.

An interesting trend is the effect 3D had on our movie experience. The theater counted matinees as before noon. There were only 2 times available that counted as matinee. Both were only in 3D. So, we got charged an extra $12 for tickets. Argh!!! It’s adds a level of complication to planning a movie.
I didn’t expect to eat lunch with Wayne, but he had a break in work. The issue was finding a place that could serve us. We walked past 3 places that were packed. Veteran’s day, I suppose. We ended up sampling the Daily Grill. They had the requisite coloring books and fries, but were obviously focused to business clientele and had great sandwiches.
Finally, we stopped by Barnes and Noble to use some gift cards and got some fun books and a few more stuffed animals (a blue and red dragon).
