Sara went off to a bday party. It sounded fun. She saw Star Wars for the first time. She wasn’t that enamored. I think she prefers animated fare.
I hung with Laura. She let me take a nap to abate my cold. She played hard for the first few hours and then started wondering where her playmate was. I was impressed with how willing she was to clean up her toys with minimal askance. We watched some TV, ate some dinner, read some books.
Church was a bit weepy as the day Dan leaves arrives. It was a profound worship time.
We joined J&C for their annual Octoberfest. This one was adhoc. Their house is being built. We set up in the alley beside their house. The food was still the same. Grilled, crunchy pretzels, amazing sausage with brot, mustards, kraut, and beers. We added gouda, crackers and apples. We went to neighbors houses for bathrooms. I swear I spent half my time taking girls to bathrooms. As always, new babies appear. Hazel was happy and fun. There’s new boy, Sammy, to offset the girl herd. It was nice to see Claire’s parents and see what a dramatic effect drywall makes.
All napped in sabbath style. The weekend ends on a quiet note. Neither of us is feeling particularly well. There’s a cold floating between us. No one wanted to cook. So we pushed off meals for later and are relaxing.
