By definition, I work part time. But my schedule doesn’t look very part time. I work hard. Mostly centered around kids and the house. Today had a schedule. And I did my best to stick to it. This crazy week has flown by. I have not yet had much time to devote to my house. I still haven’t unpacked from Corvallis. I figured I’d just be repacking the same stuff for Glacier.
Wayne said I have a stubborn propensity to complicate my life. This is true. Today the complication involved 2 lbs of cooked pasta and my desire to bike to VBS and my need to stay the whole time to help out.
Let’s just say my pack was heavy, I did not get to VBS on time, and I had a ton of fun with Ruth and Grace. I
got the meal delivered in good shape.
The girls were less enthusiastic on the way home mostly because they were tired and ready for naps. Today, I got
A blessed nap.
I jumped up at 3:30pm for the next event, emerald downs horse racing. Thanks to our May auction, we had seats at the races. Sara had fallen in love with the movie Dreamer and was ecstatic to go. Off thru traffic we raced. Parents in the back and picking up Wayne downtown.
The evening was lovely even if we forgot taggies. Laura perked up with food. She played elaborate horse games jumping over posts on the ground.

A security guard came over to make sure she had a guardian when she ran 40 feet away from me.

Sara slipped by accident and cried in pain. A guy offered a medic and an ambulance. It is a well patrolled place.

This is the girls dancing to the music coming over the loud speakers.
It was easy to see horse at the paddock, fence or winners circle. It wasn’t too crowded. There were wide swaths for kids to run without being pesky. The people watching was precious. The races were exciting. It was cool to be right next to that much thoroughbred power separated by a fence.
Overall, a nice evening. I’m looking forward to a chore day tomorrow without schedule.
