There is disease going around called remodeling. I have several friends in various stages of moving because of it. We might catch it eventually, but not right now. Regardless, moving all you own seems very stressful. Trying to do it with kids seems impossible. But I several friends who are chugging along with those projects.
Sunday, we kept the twins for an afternoon and evening while Wayne helped J&C move. The twins went to sleep right away. Laura had a difficult time sleeping in my bedroom. She screamed at one point in frustration. I told her she could sleep or play, but had to stay in the room. Eventually she settled in for a 2 hr nap. Dad took Sara out to bike at the park for 2 hrs. Mom cooked up dinner of beef stew and even the fillings for enchiladas. I hung out on the counter and quietly talked to her thinking good thoughts about kids getting naps. It definitely took a village. A fun, crazy village. One of the things that has been fun this week is having my parents integrate into my regular life. I like showing off my life and my community to my parents who I love because I’m proud of it all. Everyone descended on our house for dinner. It was good to see everyone.
