It’s evening and I’m feeling pensive. Not sure why. The day and week have been full. The trick to Sabbath is actually relaxing. I think I still need to learn this trick. There were parts today that I did real well. And parts where I did not.
Wayne’s lingering cold seems to be blooming today. So I took the kids solo to church. We’re still rambling thru Nehemiah. Our Bible study did it a year ago, but it’s fun to hear wha the pros have to say about it.
The sign up for the church camping trip was this week. I was a little to prepared for this. A few years ago, we arrived at the sign up after getting the kids and all the spots were gone from the group site, after 20 minutes of sign up. Ever since, I’ve been active in being on time for this sign up. It turned out to be no big deal this year. I was 2nd on the list.
Then I relaxed. I took the kids to rhe playground, I let them play, I sat in the sun and basked. We were killing time
before the church picnic. The smell of food started to waft. We headed to the fellowship hall and waited for the food to be served. It was neat to see the whole church together (a mix of all services).
Laura fell asleep in the car, but refused to nap after that. Sara ended up sleeping on the living room floor waiting for Johanna to arrive. Johanna stayed with us for the next 6 hrs. I had her watch a show while I tried to get Laura to sleep and let Wayne get a nap.
I got to nap. There’s a lot of Sabbath in that.
We grilled pork and chicken and corn. You could tell Laura was grumpy.
Finally, we all headed to Nat’s graduation. There was a neat slideshow of his life. Such fun!
