The sun came out for R&R as if to prove it can be nice here. It came out in time for our BBQ. This was the day most predicted to rain. So I took it.
Wayne and Rob filleted a whole copper river salmon from costco. It was like giving small children a new toy that can occupy them for hours. There was planning and web searching and gruff laughing. Lots of testosterone involved.
Jon and Claire rounded out the evening. Seven kids running around.
The meal: maple glazed copper river salmon with a chili spice rub, grilled corn, dinner rolls, salad greens with mushrooms, apples, and walnuts with a blush wine sweet vinaigrette, watermelon, and berries (blue, rasp, and black) with whip cream. Eaten outside in sunshine.
The walk: on full bellies, we soaked in the sunshine and took a kid train to our local park to enjoy the sunset. The kids played soccer and our girls biked.
A lovely, magical evening.
