Sabbath

We started with the last PNO. Sniff.

Wayne and I hightailed it to Northgate. They were playing Iron Man 2 every 15 minutes. That made it logistically possible to actually see the movie in our brief date time. We trialed 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. It’s channeling the Varsity and Dicks. The service was nice, burgers good, and food was fast. Certainly a good place to go with 20 min to eat.

Iron Man 2 was good. Not as good as Iron Man. But it’s a sequel. It was certainly an entertaining sequel. The engineering aspect continues to be fun. Downey is great. I love the mobile computer screens. I want a Jarvis. I also want scans to happen that fast. I also thought the iron man cheerleaders were cute.

We finally both went to church today after a looong hiatus (that travel thing again). We both got to Sabbath in our own ways. Wayne went to Costco without girls slowing him down. He got to saunter aisles of electronics without being rushed. I got to saunter through our church without agenda. The girls wanted to go to the playground so we did. When drops came down, we wandered back to the fellowship hall. I got to have conversations, the girls got to play. Laura is on a jaguar kick. She’s been an alien jaguar; a zombie jaguar; and the bad jaguar. We had lunch at Tutta Bella. The girls consumed a cheese pizza. We made jaguars and butterflies out of wiki sticks. I got to work on my structural design. We came home and all had a nap. Wayne continued working on the yard. The girls helped. I biked to a friend’s house to get some cast iron pans. I’ve never owned a cast iron pan. Now I do. I just have to figure out how to use it properly. Wayne grilled us salmon burgers, soft, sweet corn with arugula salad. The girls cleaned up their toys and helped clear the table. I called an official end to Sabbath and started working on my stack of dishes. I decided to do them all instead of dividing the task between two nights. Now it’s done. The kitchen is clean. It feels good to have rested and good to have worked.
