In the rush of life, Wayne and I have not had a date for over a month. I am a date hound. I have collected parents night outs and a baby sitting coop in order to go out with my honey. Once, towards the end of January, we caught a date per week for 3 weeks in a row. That’s unusual. It’s normally every 2 weeks. I’m jealous of folks who manage to do it every week. But with coops there’s always the giving back which fun, but takes effort to schedule. Babysitters can break the bank. All this is today, I was so excited to have a date with Wayne.
We both worked hard during the day. Wayne worked on the garden. I wrangled clothes, one of my least favorite tasks. Laura has been looking like a plummer lately. She inevitably outs her underwear on backwards and wears shirts that are too small. Thus, good exposure to her backside. Her clothes are the right size for her weight, but her torso is to long for her shirts. So she’s starting to wear some of Sara’s shirts. My main accomplishment was getting all their clothes into their drawers. I no longer have any kids clothes in storage. We now have 4 more boxes to fill with other things. I also got all their summer stuff ready. Summer won’t be around here for another 4 months. Hawaii is coming up and they’ll be ready for that.
My outside was getting to bike to and from Erica’s baby
shower. It’s such a fun opportunity to see another person’s community. Half the group was from Erica’s knitting group, so the presents were exquisite.
I had to bust home to be on time. It’s easier to bike without a hundred pound trailer. The girls got to their date. We headed to Ray’s cafe along with rest of Seattle. We waited only 30min arriving at 5:30pm. Ray’s doesn’t get too fancy, but it’s comfort food. We only got once or twice a year, but have worked thru the menu. I always get the salmon. Wayne broke Lent for a steak, “the Oscar”. Calamari with aioli was the best part. We ended with an apple
tart. Again, not fancy, but good. And you can’t beat the sunset. Both of us relaxed into the evening after a day of schedules. Afterward, we scooted to friends house to play my second game of Bang. I won this time also. Nice evening.
