Shrove Tuesday

Last day of visiting was wonderful. Snow kept all the cousins home from school. They’ll have no spring break, but we got more face time. They all came over for our pancake breakfast. Grandma could run a pancake house. She produced big, frying pan sized pancakes with chocolate chips, M&Ms, or both, blueberries, and even pears with whip cream. Mine were made in the shape of a chicken.
I’ve gotten more Olympic watching here than I would at home, I bet. It was fun to watch figure skating and Wayne likes the snowboard cross.
Alan stayed with us and vied with Sherry for favorite cousin in the girls’ eyes. He played a mean game of Mexican train. I got to play one round. I found out Alan’s media tastes run close to me and Wayne’s. We had a fired conversation about the Last Airbender.
Dinner was the eating pinnacle of the trip. It was a combination of food made with Wayne and I in mind. Shirley made a killer chili. I’ve never tasted her chili before. She made hushpuppies as a side even though standing that long was bugging her. She had 2 Japanese fruit pies for Wayne. Jon & Debbie made a second appearance and we had a good ole time. Landon decide Grandpa’ boots and hat were fashionable.
