This was the second time I tried to mobilize us on a bike adventure. Wayne and I finally have working bikes and can ride together. This morning and yesterday morning we were on the tipping edge of rain with a whimpering break in our rain. The other factor is girls. The girls have gotten bike fever and actually want to ride their own bikes. What an unreasonable request (joking). So we compromised. Wayne drove the van with the kids bikes and I biked to our local park. Sara was tentative am nervous on the bike. Over the past 2 days she has gotten better. She now has more confidence on her slightly too big bike. Wayne or I would trade off biking around for exercise. We all played a few fun games of hide and seek (note: bike helmets make it harder to hide, but easier to be it). So no long rides with the trailer, bit a little exercise and a lot of fun.
To go along with the rain, I made a fun shrimp and corn chowder adding some bacon to the top. Yum! Here’s the URL: http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/browse-all-recipes/shrimp-and-corn-chowder-with-fennel-recipe-00000000028079/index.html
Last night we had a fun date with J&C and Lucy at La Isla. We barely got a table. Ballard is hopping on Saturday nights. We had pastelon and chuletas againwith tostone. Last time was Jon’s bday dinner. We broke up early so the twins could get to be on time. We went to U Village and browsed apple store and barnies. I just finished The Lightening Thief of the Percy Jackson series. Maybe a little juvenile, but it scooted me thru this rainy day wanting to read it every spare minute. The surprises are faster than a roller coaster ride and the new Olympian world is fun. It takes the whole book to figure out all the rules.
We also watched Star Trek again thanks to my brother. What a fun movie! Fun to see againto follow the time paradoxes.
