What has changed

I’m thoughtful about the amazing changes that have happened in the microlevel of my life. I revel in the ordinary moments of my life. For me, it is the most profound place for me to be. An unexhaustive list:

Laura isn’t using diapers anymore. I see the light at the end of the tunnel as my daughter grows up.

Sara’s hair is getting darker and Laura’s is getting lighter and they’re meeting in the middle at brown.

Our home group has changed members once again. It’s so lovely to let new people into our lives and explore their lives.

I’ve started riding a bike and it makes me feel athletic again. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that way between pregnancies, small kids, and hip replacements.

We’ve switched to HD TV and dropped cable and DVR devices. Now the computers are my TV and netflix provides my entertainment.

I published my first paper at work and “dabbled with academics”.

Good friends continue to move away and I continue to be drawn to this wonderful place I call home.

Sara has filled out as an artist and is exploring that love.

Our house got invaded by horses. I introduced my old Breyer horse collection and that has been the dominant theme among toys this bday and holiday season.

I’m thinking seriously about getting a dog, “my third child”.

Social networking worked it’s way into our lives. Wayne with twitter and me with Facebook. It’s fun to see how much our “separate accounts” are actually joint.

I still enjoy writing on my blog and taking photos.

Pixar continues to produce neat, fun, and profitable movies.

I enjoyed a sabbath from travel.

I explored practicing the discipline of sabbath is my life.

We continue to not have flooding in our basement.

I got to snowshoe once and look forward to another go in 2010.

Sara started kindergarten and I survived.

Sara is excited about school and learning.

I’m seeing what a great teacher my husband is.
