It has been a relaxing Xmas. We didn’t go anywhere. I couldn’t even pull the kids from playing for a walk.
The kids got up at 7am and we started on presents right away. Wayne gave them a pre-breakfast of fruit loops.
Sara and Laura helped us gather stockings and then presents. Laura has a zealous joy in her eyes as she opened gifts.
From the kids perspectives, it’s been great. They’ve been playing nonstop for 2 days. I think it’s rare to have such unfettered play time. The new toys have also stimulated new ideas for play.
I think from my perspective, it was also nice. We didn’t bring gobs of new stuff into the house. The toys all feel like they’ll fit nicely into the space we have. The toys also feel like nice additions without too many duplicates.
We ate panetone toast and grapefruit and hot chocolate. Dinner was equally simple with grilled pork tenderloin, rosemary bread, satsuma/pecan/cranberry salad, and desert.
