We decided to have a small celebration on each girl’s day. We had picked up the cake on Saturday. I got a 6 inch round mint, chocolate ganache cake from Cold Stone Creamery. It fit our needs perfectly. 8 pieces. Decorated with Happy birthday Sara and Laura.
Sunday seemed to hit quickly. Wayne felt sick, so I took the girls to church on my own. I swung by the pediatrician to see how the flu clinic was going. While the early morning brought lines blocks long, noon brought clear flying. Laura got her shot by a hair (since the cut off was 35 weeks). I called during the week to double check she’d qualify. She got her H1n1 shot. Sara got upset when Laura got 2 lollipops, on for the shot and one for her bday. We had bday envy both ways.
Sara and I rode via bike to Salmon Bay park. We hadn’t made it the week before with the twins. It was a great excuse for me to ride the bike and get exercise during a rain break.
I was very environmental and rushed and gave Laura her present wrapped in a Walle blanket. She got her own Breyer horse and rider and tack. She named the horse Flower or Sandy. One of her nightly prayers was for a horse named Flower.
They started Ice Age 3 while I worked on the disaster that was our kitchen after cooking beef bourginone and roasting veggies. That is a cute movie. There were giggles wafting upstairs. I enjoyed pieces here and there.
At the end, we announced cake. Laura ran ahead up the stairs, proceeded to grab the cake from the freezer and drop it on the ground. It was still in it’s case and only a little worse for wear. She seemed ok, but after gentle remonstrations, ran crying from the table when it was time to open her present. Too much too late? We sang happy birthday to her snuggled in her bed. She enjoyed the cake and then got tucked into bed.
