Happy Husband

Wayne is jazzed. That makes me jazzed.

Dungeons and Dragons makes him very happy. We’re both tired from a day of hosting. Wayne has been preparing for this day for a week. He’s been making food for the past 2 nights.

Wayne’s been DM (dungeon master) twice now. This is the first time he was DM and host. I bought the ingredients, but he made the pasta casserole and took care of the kids this morning. We had 4 girls for a good part of the day. That made the girls happy. They love playing with Sam and Alex.

There’s a lot of joy in sharing our house and home with others. I think I had a more relaxed time because I was able to just able to do work behind the scenes. I didn’t have to balance kitchen duty and entertaining. Wayne and the guys were completely engrossed in their game so other than a pleasant cup of tea with a friend, I didn’t have much juggling to do. I got must of the tasks done before dinner, had a nice nap, and then popped up for dinner. The casserole was made. Things just seemed to flow. That makes it easier for me to relax and visit. If there’s things to do, I get anxious and don’t relax into conversation as well.

I actually got the morning off, kinda. I got rid of a ton of toys, our highchair, and potty seat. Our church had a toy exchange. I brought home 2 bags full of clothes for Sara. I brought some fun, thin books and 2 cute, small stuffed animals. A nice productive morning, all said.

My only regret was missing the morning sunshine. I admired it, but didn’t find the time to take a walk. I didn’t have any interest in taking 4 girls out of the house. They played so well amongst themselves, why disturb them?

We have an extra casserole, so we have food for the rest of the week. Yeah!
