Swim

Third week running, we didn’t run, we swam. Today is my “complicated day” by Wayne’s assessment. I decided to drive today to make it less complicated. The morning seemed luxurious with time. We still didn’t get to turning over her calendar to October.

My kids begged me to light the candle and read a Bible study. I love this. It’s ordinary time right now. Bless the Lord->the Lord’s name be praised. We haven’t done this for several weeks. It’s funny how a Bible study turned into a lesson about fire as we blow out the candle and watch the smoke.

We got to school on time. It’s becoming a routine and Sara is a pro at knowing where to go. I met a few more moms, made a playdate, and got invited to go riding. Laura paused on the monkey bars (with me lifting her up). I held her upside down while she swung from the bars.

My main goal was double whammy of grocery shopping. Not sexy, but practical for feeding. I wanted to try to get through Trader Joes and Fred Meyer before we had to pick Sara up at lunch. I thought I could get home and unload the groceries. No luck there. Laura complained about TJs. She wanted to go straight to Playland at FM (where you can watch Pinnochio and play house at the same time). TJ’s had it’s charms for kids. She helped me shop and get food. She even picked the kids snacks. She had eagle eyes and spotted a manager give a lollipop to another kid. We both left with cherry lollipops in our mouths. Laura had to pet the pumpkins on the way out.

Ran through FM. Laura got her Playland fix. They’re putting up the Xmas ornaments. That made my soul sink. Oh well. I did not make back home.

Picked up Sara. Spent the next 1.5 hrs putting groceries away and arranging things. Got 45 min of nap.

Sara loved swimming. Her floaties are dying. She decided to swim without. It made my job more complicated. So I worked on teaching Sara how to swim. Laura jumped off the edge. It was a little lonely. I invited 2 families to come and both playdates fell through. I need to stop telling the kids about playdates and let them be surprised. Laura continues to have a hard time leaving the pool. I had to essentially drag her from the pool.

Wayne and I cooked together tonight. We had the cheese from our the pumpkin farm. We needed to use it. It was a sausage, argula, red pepper pizza. And it was yummy.
