Mail and visitors at the door is a very exciting event in our house. I think Sara is confused by our antithetical response. I throw out mail and don’t even answer the door for solicitors. So when Sara received a purple postcard with a friendly octopus waving dental tools, it made an impression. Wayne took care of the girls last night while I went to a conference. He showed it to Sara and then threw it in our mail basket for me to see later to schedule an appointment for Sara.
This morning, Sara led me to her art basket (placed on an upper shelf to keep it out of Laura’s reach). She asked me to “read” her mail. I saw a friendly octopus waving at me. I also recognized it as a reminder. Someone had stickered it to the art basket. I assumed it was her Dad. I called him to “discuss” that that was not the correct way to deal with reminders. He was confused.
Evidently, Sara had independently claimed her mail and put it where it was best for her!
