Jack’s ‘cation Bible school

This is how Sara decided to refer to our church vbs ever since Jack declared the church was “his” on Monday morning. I’ve been the good mother and drilled Sara on the correct pronunciation of ‘vacation’. Past that, we’ve been having fun calling it by her name.

It’s taken teamwork to get Sara there and back. As with swimcamp and our Mom’s group vbs, I’ve had to partner with other moms. This time, it’s not Audra, it’s Kimberlee, Jack’s Mom. I haven’t done this tag team mothering/transport before, but it’s fun.

Sara’s been earning money for the past few weeks to buy chickens for folks in Africa. They’ve bought 4 chickens, 1 pig and 1 sheep so far.

Sara declared to me early in the week that, “Jesus died on the cross and rose again.” I agreed with that statement.

Today was the “Country Fair”. Laura and I showed up and watched a skit. We got to have lunch on the fellowship hall floor. Laura likes poking things (fingers) in her watermelon. She decided her clothes made good bibs. The vbs had a petting zoo and lots of other fun games. I never figured out what they were since the girls fauned over the kittens and horse and pig the entire time. Laura did get temporarily distracted by putting the lid on and off the chickens water jug for 15 minutes.

Laura has just started meowing with seeing cats. She growled for dragons in Curious George this morning.

We walked up to Sunset park tonight as a family. We also had brownies for desert made by Sara.
