Snuggled on the warming brick of my front porch with both girls on my lap as we waved goodbye to Dad, I noticed a tennis ball sized divot in our brick. I pointed it out to Sara. At first she pondered what animal could have taken a bite out of the brick (giraffe’s mouth is too small). I suggested a rock would be more appropriate. She came up with the following story, “When the people who made the house wanted to see if it was strong, they threw a rock at the house making the divot and found out the house was strong.” I love seeing Sara grow. Her reasoning and logic is processing in her brain.
I asked Laura to put her milk in the fridge. She walked over to the fridge, leaned over and dribbled milk all over the floor. She stood back up, looked around, and grabbed the towel I leave on the ground. She cleaned up the floor. While she did this, more milk dribbled out of the straw cup. Then she put the milk away. I did some clean up after her. I was impressed by her ability to problem solve.
