Birthday Bash

Laura turned one today. We had a low key family celebration. Sara and I brought home cupcakes from Cupcake Royale. Wayne made a wonderful pasta for dinner.

We opened presents for Laura and ended up opening some of Sara’s presents. The kids had a blast playing with the new toys. It’s a wonderful beginning to our birthday weekend!



The “bash” part of the title happened earlier today. Sara got 2 stitches because of a grilled cheese sandwich. I was making lunch and burned my finger on the pan. Sara ran off to get me a bandaid. She climbed up on the toilet, slipped, and fell. I ran to her side and hugged her. At first everything looked intact. The biggest casualty was a burnt sandwich. Then I notice blood on my hands. Sara had a scalp laceration on the back of her head. I finished lunch, put Laura to bed, and then put Sara in the shower to clean the wound from the dried blood. Wayne came home early so I could take Sara to the doctors to get her 2 stitches. She took it like a champ, lying still for almost an hour during different activities.
