Mother’s Day

I could get used to this. What a wonderful day!

The weekend began with chores. We worked hard on Saturday. But, by the time today rolled around, the lawn was cut, most of the laundry done, all travel bags unpacked, meals had been cooked for the cooking group, and the dishes had mostly been washed. It felt like we had prepped for a day of rest (atleast for me).

I got to sleep late. Laura has been doing better at not waking up so much. Last week, she was awakening every 2-3 hrs. We skipped church this morning and had a morning at home. Wayne toasted some waffles. He presented me with a card from Sara and a little treasure chest from Laura (both made in daycare). Wayne gave me the funnest adult present, a new radio/dvd player to mount under my cupboard by the sink so I can listen to the radio, music, and sermons without having to strain to hear our computer with it’s wimpy speakers. What a wonderful gift. You can now hear music clearly out on our back deck or even in the living room.

We went to the Ballard Farmer’s Market around noon. We just strolled along. I got Sara lemonade and a chocolate chip cookie. We bought organic cheddar cheese. We had samples of apples and cider. I bought a fresh made spinach mozzarella crepe. Wayne and Sara had burgers at Zak’s. We stopped by Ben and Jerry’s for lemon sorbet for Sara (not mint, gasp) and a pint of Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone ice cream (very good-vanilla, chocolate covered waffle cone chunks with swirls of carmel) to take home.

We took a late nap and finished off some chores before retiring to bed.
