Advent and sharp objects

Every 2 years, Bethany celebrates Advent for families.  This is the first time we’ve had a kid old enough to make it worth attending.  We were fed Pizza Hut pizza for dinner.  Sara found her good friend Asha and they had fun jumping around together.  We went to a short advent service.  Sara was a bit of a wiggly worm. Mom walked Laura around the church in her stroller. We sat with Jill and family. They were experienced advent wreath makers. They had brought a cantelope scooper to hollow out a hole out of the foam for the 4 candles.

Advent at Church

Earlier in the day, Mom and I explored Swanson’s nursery. I got a 5 minute lesson on how to make a wreath. We got to see the famous reindeer. We gathered some greens for our wreath.

The actual wreath making was fraught with danger. We used bobby pins to keep the greens in place. Sara took the pins and liked sticking them in the foam. I meant I had to watch my hands and hers very closely during the wreath making process. The end result came out quite nice.
