Well is seems about once a year I have to work on my TiVo. This time around the lame old Maxxtor (clunky, hot, loud and lasted JUST beyond the 1 yr warranty) finally died.
I went down to Frye’s as they had a sale on 160G Seagate drives for $59 (after rebate of course). Nice quiet drive. Gives me 175hrs of record time.
I applied the TiVo V4.0 software hacks to it and now can access it via a network controller just like my old 3.0 hack. I follow the nice little guide that was posted here.
